Gretchen Lansing, LMT, BCTMB, AMTA
In 1992 I attended the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington CT. Two years later I moved back home to Lake George and began working at The Sagamore Spa in Bolton landing, NY. Then later moved to Lake Placid and began working out of The Lily Pad. I had the chance to go on tour with Shania Twain and drive her horse trailer and give her massages. I then opened my office out of my home, Clouds Above Massage. During my 10 years as Clouds Above Massage, became captain of the Ironman massage tent for 8 years. I worked on the Canadian Olympic and World Champion freestyle ski jumping team. I taught massage therapy at the North Country Community College massage therapy program and had 12 graduates study under my licensure in that time.
My house started to get smaller with a baby crawling around so I moved my business to Balanced Bodywork & Massage. Working for nearly 4 years with many professionals and adding 5 more graduates under my license. For the last Nine years I have also loved working with all the incredible athletes at the Olympic Training Center. USA Bobsled and Skeleton team have taken me with them to Europe two years in a row. I was lucky enough to be asked to join them in Sochi Russia for the winter 2014 Olympics and Pyeongchang South Korea 2018 Olympics. I have also traveled with the USA women's hockey team.I look forward to working with the USPOC in Bejing for the up coming winter Olympics.
Now I have Healing Elements and loving all the hard work.

I am Rebecca Wolford. I have been a passionate massage therapist for 25 years. I went to school in New Mexico and practiced many years under a chiropractor and in physical therapy. I also have a Bachelors in Exercise Physiology from the University of New Mexico and am a Licensed Esthetics Professional in NY. I hold a NY Massage License and have been National Certified since 1992. LaStone Therapy, the original hot and cold stone massage is my speciality. Vascular gymnastics is a healing tool. Heat assists by flushing tissue with healing blood and cold draws out inflammation facilitating healing. SASTM and other myofascial release techniques are part of my skill set. Cranial Sacral, Tragger, Neuromuscular, Rieki, cupping and many more modalities are part of my arsenal to incorporate into any treatment plan. Working with people who are managing pain or orthopedic challenges has been my primary practice. I also teach foam roller release techniques and perform personal fitness training in the comfort of your home. The body is an amazing machine which we use and abuse. Self care is vital to maintaining function. Exercise, massage and other forms of alternative treatments can assist you in performing any activity you desire without leaving your muscles in a bind.
1998 was a great start to my cosmetology career and began my love for bodywork. I went on to the Finger Lakes school of massage to further my education and became a licensed massage therapist in 2003. I started out in Clifton Park at a couple of spas for a few years then moved back home and worked at Speedy Spa with Claire Doyle. After taking some time to raise my children I wanted to start massaging again. I’m excited to be at Healing Elements with a lot of great therapists. My modalities are, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Reflexology, pregnancy massage, and skin care.

Have Courage & Be Kind
Leaving the world of technology behind, I was drawn to the nurturing and caring of humanity through body, mind, and spirit. In awe of the creation of the human body and the human mind both integrated with the spirit of life as in the Holy Spirit, I felt drawn to nurturing and caring all mentioned for optimal health. Also being a lifelong athlete, I bring this experience into my massage practice from a variety of athletic participatory events, including being a 5-time Ironman participant (including Hawaii), marathon runner (including the Boston Marathon), being an ADK 46’er, martial arts, nordic skiing (Kort-Loppet), and more.
After leaving the engineering world and then earning a certified secondary mathematics certification, I was educated and worked as a licensed NYS LPN (1993) and most recently graduated from NCCC as a massage therapist (2014). I have worked at the Element Day Spa and Salon in Lake Placid and Ampersand Spa at the Hotel Saranac (current). I also work with abuse survivors during week long retreats (Grief to Grace) involving healing and safe touch through chair massage. I also volunteer at athletic events, such as the Ironman massage tent.
The modalities used in my art of massage include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Reflexology, and pregnancy massage. Each treatment is specialized according to the needs of the massage recipient. Healthy touch is healing touch.
Since childhood I've always been drawn to massage, from massaging friends after sports in school or to friends in the military. Unfortunately I didn't make that connection until later in life, after I left the military in 2010. I moved to Washington State and I happened to randomly walk into a college offering massage and knew instinctively that I had found my calling. That particular school's focus was orthopedic and sports massage, which I quickly developed a knack for. I graduated in 2011 and started a mobile business massaging people in their homes. In 2013 I moved back to New York and had to go back to school to meet the state requirements to practice. I went to the Finger lake School of Massage in Ithaca and graduated in 2014, became licenced in 2016.In 2016 I decided I wanted a change of pace and moved to Lake Placid and started working at a spa in a four star resort. After a few years I wanted to really get to know and have an impact on the community and not just the vacationers, so I started working out of Balance Bodyworks in 2018. In 2019 I was selected to work with the Olympic athletes at the training center in town. At this moment I am excited to start a new part of my journey here at Healing elements.
